Schaumburg Farmers Market - June 11 through October 29th.
I've been counting the days until the Farmers Market opens.  It's the best one around.  It's held every Friday 7:00 - 1:00, in the Town Square Shopping Center at the southwest corner of Schaumburg and Roselle Roads.  (So convenient because it's in the same shopping center as my Coldwell Banker Real Estate office!) 

I can't wait to get my "flower fix"!  Every week I buy flowers - so hard to decide between Stargazer lilies, multi-colored gladiolas, mixed bunches, and perennials.  In a month or so the sweetly fragrant tuberoses beckon!  The flowers really brighten up the home and smell great, too.

Besides flowers, there are many booths with vegetables, fruits, and that good sweet corn - all from farmers in Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin.  A farmer from Marengo, Illinois has quite a selection - Depending on the harvesting times, they have about 10 - 15 types of potatoes, tomatoes, and apples, amongst other things. 

Another farmer from Michigan is my favorite for blueberries and peaches. The fresh blueberries last a couple of weeks.  I buy a case and share with my Mom and sisters.  Even though I'm growing my own tomatoes, I like to try a few heirloom varieties from the farmers - There's nothing like a good home-grown tomato!

There are also booths offering breads, pastas, spices, pickles, gourmet cheeses, tea, salsa, pet treats, soaps, wine, and an old-fashioned knife sharpener. 

I'll be there!
